City Sounds Festival

Brand Identity for a new music festival in Chichester celebrating new and young local music talent.

City Sounds is a council-funded event that took place in the city of Chichester. Masterminded by Chris Simmons, a music artist in his own right with a wealth of music industry experience who has toured most notably with Tom Jones and Simply Red, to name a few.

The City Sounds’ identity had to reflect Chichester and the music scene. It also was important that it didn’t feel niche or representative of a specific type of music genre.

Social media posting was the main channel used to advertise the event. The first posts to drop were the artists posts. There were over 50 artists playing across the event with some famous names such as Aiko (representing Czechia in Eurovision 2024).

We designed and built a React Native App for both iOS and Android for the event which allowed people to create a personalised schedule so they could make sure they didn’t miss their favourite artists.

In addition to applying the identity to digital we created a range of print based items as well, everything from posters and flyers to beer labels!

We also produced a range of social media posts applying the identity is different ways from fun countdowns to branded video edits intercutting footage with the identity system.

The event was such a success we have been re engaged to design the next event which is going to be bigger, with more events and even more identity and graphic design. We can’t wait!
